Description

The arrival of generic drugs opened the pharmaceutical market and pressed authorities to guarantee their bioequivalence and bioavailability. Today, nine out of 10 drugs sold in Mexico are generic. Accessibility to generic drugs is based on expired patents of innovative products and on industry regulation. The latter plays a fundamental role, as it directly impacts the health and economy of consumers. The generics industry is constantly fighting for products that are of high quality and at the same time accessible to the population.

Generics Laboratories seeks to explore how generics companies in Mexico are creating sales channels, mechanisms and products that bring more and more medicines closer to the population.
