Description

Fragmentation of the health system, rather than the number of hospitals, remains the primary barrier to attaining universal access to healthcare in Mexico. The various actors participating in the industry are looking for a new scheme that can address the country's demographic and epidemiological requirements, while ensuring increased access to the health system. This process will transform not only the role of hospitals but that of all professionals around hospital services.

This chapter includes interviews with a wide range of hospitals and clinics, which together construct Mexico's health system. These players will share their views on the upcoming trends transforming hospital care, as well as the challenges and opportunities that come with the sector’s transformation.
